The style of conflict management that a past manager made use of the most is collaborating. People had given this manger a tag which he had come to so gladly accept that is he was in a good way a people pleaser. He believed that there is a space for every individual to be happy for our differences to be the greatest strength for the team. He brought this same attitude in the manner which he handled conflicts. This is because he tried everything possible to get to a solution that meets all the needs of the individuals involved in the conflict without anyone having to sacrifice anything. It is only when it was not possible to take all needs and perspective into consideration for example when the parties involved had extreme positions that the manger incorporated compromising as the second style.
For example, when a decision was being made in the team whereby different individuals had different and clashing perspective on an issue or how something would be done, the manager would listen to the different perspectives and find a way on how they complement each other and then come up with a solution that is satisfactory to all. He found this very important to do for the sake of enhancing group cohesion because as he commonly said there was no room for any individual to be displeased in the team in terms of what the team was doing and the decisions of the team because this would only hurt the productivity of the individual and consequently the productivity of the team.
